Summary Box: Britain's economic growth slows

SLOW GROWTH: Britain's economy grew by just 0.8 percent in the third quarter, down from 1.2 percent in the previous quarter.

SLOWER GROWTH: Analysts say they expect even that pace to decrease in the current quarter and early 2011 because of government spending cuts, job security concerns and Europe's accelerating financial crisis.

TRADE BOOST: Net trade accounted for half of the increase in gross domestic product.
